Here, you can freely explore and savor a variety of recommended labels. We established the Kuma Shochu Lounge so our guests can experience and appreciate the tradition and culture of Kuma Shochu, a treasure born and nurtured in Kuma Valley, and share their newfound knowledge and enjoyment with others. Kuma Shochu holds a distinguished position as one of Japan's few authentic shochu brands with a geographical indication. In 1995, rice shochu produced in Kuma Valley was officially recognized as "Kuma Shochu," receiving a geographical indication from the national government. This prestigious designation, similar to that of Cognac and Bordeaux wine, is a testament to the exceptional quality of the local rice and water used in its production, elevating Kuma Shochu to a world-class spirit.

The 27 distilleries located in the Kuma Valley each produce several distinct brands of shochu, for a total of over 200 labels in total. Kuma Shochu is characterized by its mellow aroma and rich, full-bodied flavor and covers a diverse range of tastes.
